Flat Rigid Composite Foot Plates vs. Shaped Multidimensional X1 Blades

Clyde

I am using a flat graphite plate right now.  What are the X1 Blade benefits compared to a flat plate?

Robert

Robert,
A flat composite plate in a shoe inhibits normal plantar flexion during gait. Flat composite plates are best used for pediatric toe walkers to get their heel on the ground during their gait cycle.

The X1 Blade has a forefoot rocker that simulates normal plantar flexion while remaining rigid at the ouch point (sweet spot) at toe off.  Also the X1 Blade is flexible in the midfoot and rear foot so as not to impede an athletes acceleration. Your flat blade's rigid density is the same front to back and impedes normal rear and mid foot motion. The proof?  It is harder for an athlete to keep a shoe on during competition with a flat rigid composite plate, but they are great for pediatric toe walkers!
