Comments or Questions: Clyde, my wife is a competitive ballroom dancer.  She recently has been having pain in her big right toe.  She feels this has been coming on for about three years but has only become unbearable within this last year.  Xrays showed no fractures or spurs but her doctor did say it showed arthritis.  Her nephew, a PT, prescribed a rigid carbon plate from Wrymark in St. Louis.  This has been working fairly well, but limits some of her activity with dancing.  I find your products intriguing and wonder which models you would recommend.  As I understand it, the product is fully refundable less shipping if it doesn't work when trying on "in the house".  Am I correct on this?  In addition, do your inserts require the use of another insole on top of the plate?  If so, are there some you recommend that take up very little room?  Thank you, John

Hi John - Most of my dancers get the Runner model and it fits under the shoes insole. The Wrymark carbon fiber plate , like all carbon fiber plates, makes the entire shoe rigid and limits normal foot motion.  Rigid carbon fiber plates are great for getting pediatric toe walkers into a more natural gait, but too limiting for high activity users as your wife has found.
My X1 Blade "stiff-flex design" is only rigid where it needs to be rigid - under a users great toe thus enabling normal foot and ankle motion during activity.  My X1 Blade has a 100% money back guarantee. Thanks for asking. Clyde
