X1 Blade for Sesamoiditis - Maggie Has A Question

Hello Clyde,

 

I just bought the X-1 Blade (RTL Model) for sesamoiditis. I am a distance runner and I was told by my doctor to wear the insert in all of my shoes for 2 weeks straight and then I can run. When I begin to run do I keep the insert in my shoe? If so, how long do I run with it in my shoe for?

Sesamoid Pain - X! Blade RTL Model User Now Pain Free!

I could not be more pleased with the X1 Blade RTL Model. 

This thing is incredible. The design is perfect. The rigidity and spring is spot on. I have dealt with fractured (shattered into multiple pieces) sesamoid bones for years. 

When I wear the X1 RTL now, I am completely pain free. I haven't seen another orthotic product that even comes close to this one - and I have searched high and low.

X1 Blade RTL Model for Sesamoiditis - A Question?

Hi,

I just got out of a cast from a sesamoid fracture.  I noticed you sell the X1 blade RTL for sesamoidosis and assume it would be good for sesamoid recovery.  I won't be able to begin running again for at least a few months, but I had a few questions on your product.

I have very wide, flat feet and already wear orthodics and was wondering if the X1 blade RTL could be placed on top of an existing device?  Also because I have an odd shaped foot, is there any customization of the X1 blade RTL?  I wear a size 15 shoe, so I'm already a bit hard to fit, but I'm guessing a too narrow orthodic might defeat its purpose. Hi Charles and thanks for the question.  All my X1 Blades including the RTL model fit nicely under a shoes insole or an existing orthotic, there is no customization required with an X1 Blade, and I have many large athletes using X1 Blades for different pathologies. Size is not an issue. Clyde

But I'm not sure what type of plate I should get, the sesamoiditis plate or the turf toe plate. I have already tried inserts with pads to off load pressure from the big toe.

Answer: Yes, I have a very good insert for a fracture of the sesamoid bone. It is my X1 Blade Reverse Morton's Extension insert. It has a offset area under the great toe for unloading and pressure relief and a reinforement blade for stability. It is made of composite materials so is  ery thin (.040") and light (.070 oz.) and can be transferred easily from shoe to shoe. It is an excellent answer to relieve the pain caused by a fractured sesamoid.
