X1 Blade "The Only Thing That Works for My Turf Toe Pain!"

Talked to Martin M. from Sarasota, FL today who is a long time user of my X1 Blade for his turf toe pain. He wanted to order a Pro for running and a Pro+. The Pro+ for

tennis since his injury involved the sesamoid bones and he wanted the relief pocket.

"Clyde, I have tried many other inserts - some custom made.  Your X1 Blade is the only product that has allowed me to run again,"  said Martin.

It fit in his cleat after a little trimming. He likes it so far, because he doesn't notice it in his shoe. Others he tried were too stiff and he couldn't run. 
He is using it to prevent turf toe he suffered at end of last year and using as a preventive.

Clyde, I just returned from a week in Germany where I worked out every morning and walked several miles each day while sightseeing.....all pain free!!! Prior to getting the X1 Blade, my turf toe was bothering me literally day and night. The insert immediately stopped the pain and coupled with some toe strengthening exercises from my podiatrist almost have this thing licked. My son Bo says he loves it...........told me it saved him. 

The very first time he tried it, he was worried because it felt slippery inside the cleat, but as soon as he started running, he said it was amazing. 

His turf toe has not been an issue since he started using it.

Hi Steve - 

Springlite like all carbon fiber "plates" are like dinner plates. The density and material used is the same throughout the object. Thus the name "plate."

The X1 Blade on the other hand has density zones that change so as not to restrict the entire foot but only that zone under the great toe. 

Also there is a significant difference in materials used. Common carbon fiber plates use a single unidirectional carbon material that make them brittle and restrictive. The X1 Blade utilizes four different materials (two composite, one glass, and one unique plastic) that increases the performance, life and durability of the X1 Blade over a common carbon fiber plate.

Also the coefficient of friction at the foot/blade interface is significantly lower in the X1 Blade vs. a common carbon fiber plate thus reducing the incidence of blistering under the great toe during competition.

Odd Carbon Fiber Plate Terribly Uncomfortable for User

I am trying to transition to an orthotic. I can't rationalize spending 300$ for an orthotic and did purchase an odd carbon fiber one which is terribly uncomfortable. My foot is actually fairly narrow and has a very flat arch. The inexpensive orthotic has such a high arch it pushes my toes up in the toe box of every shoe I own. How do your orthotics differ or compare ?

 Hi Kimberley - XI Blades are thin, light, and do not restrict the entire foot like carbon fiber plates do. 

X1 Blades are designed to limit the motion to that part of the X1 Blade that is under the great toe. We accomplish this by controlling the density of the material in different parts of the X1 Blade. Also there is no uncomfortable rigid arch built into any X1 Blade. 

The X1 Blade is almost unnoticeable to the wearer during activity according to some of our user testimonials.
