Comments or Questions:
Hello Clyde,
Daughter, 26, diagnosed with arthritis and bone
spur and lots of pain on first MTP. Think the 2nd surgery and
long-standing immobilization of that toe and bone caused the arthritis.
She has cork orthotics for falling arches (has since 4 years old).
Tried carbon plate on forefoot from top of orthotic to an inch below MTP
joint but couldn't find any shoes to accomodate the height. Daughter
has a wide foot as well as with the swelling needs a deep toe box.
Would any of your products be super slip to place under her custom
orthotic and not change the depth requirement of shoes? We do not want
old lady orthopedic shoes.
Do you have any shoes to recommend?
Working with a person who makes all kinds of prosthetics has not proved
helpful.
Any help would be appreciated.
Linda
Hi Linda,
I suggest you first try the X1 Blade HTL model under your daughters shoe insert. The primary goal with X1 Blades is not to notice anything except pain reduction. There is a solution - try this one first.

Dear Paul,
Thank you for your recent Order#3923 for a pair of my Blades. Did they meet
your expectations? Let me know.
Clyde
Hello Clyde,
The X1 Blades seem to be working out quite well and I would have to say that I am overall very pleased. I particularly like the fact that they are so thin, which means they will accommodate any shoe, with any other existing insert over them.
Thanks for all of your help and expertise!

Moldova Peace Corps Volunteer Ben Orders X1 Blade for Turf Toe
Hi Clyde,
I just sent a message through the website's online contact forum, but I
thought I'd email here as well.
I'm a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Republic of Moldova with some great toe problems. The doctor's here aren't so precise as to diagnose me with either Turf Toe or Sesamoiditis (they've labelled it tendinitis), and though I've had this problem for three months, I don't want to go back to the States for a more acurate toe diagnosis.
My step sister is coming to visit on June 31st, however, and I'm desperately excited to get my hands (or foot) on an X1 Blade.
My questions are: 1. Can I have an X1 Blade delivered by Friday to her in Boston? 2. Since I don't know if it's turf toe or sesamoiditis, I'm think to order one blade for each and to see which one has better results. Thinking the mid level (jogging) for the turf toe, since I'll be touring with her for a week through Turkey, sometimes with a pack, sometimes just walking. Good call? 3. My shoes are size 10 Nikes (their website lists these at 28 cm). Should I then order a size 11 through your wesbite, since the size 11s are 28cm?
Thank you very much for any assistance. As I won't be able to order twice, I wanted to do my best to get this right the first time! I recognize and affirm that you are not medically responsible/liable for any advice or product you provide.

Hi Ben - Order the 11 and safe travels. I'll get them to Boston. Clyde

I bought your X1 Blade RTL Model for sesamoiditis and was wondering what it was made of?
I have to fly in two weeks and wondering if I can get through the metal detector with it in my shoe.
Any advice on flying with it?

"My doctor wanted me to get a carbon fiber insert but it seemed to rigid. But then I read about your X1 Blade, and how it wasn't so restrictive in the mid and hind foot. So, I decided to order an X1 Blade. And, by the way, it is less expensive than the carbon fiber insert - even with shipping!" Caryl M.

Marathon Runner Has X1 Blade Question
Contact Name: Dean S.
Phone: 717 XXX-716X
Email Address: sxxxxxxxx@comcast.net
Hi, I have hallux limitus in my left big toe that causes pain while running (marathon training) and walking (golf).
Question: Do your inserts come in pairs? Seems like it may be a bit odd to stiffen the sole of my left shoe while leaving the sole of my right flexible. Won't that cause something of an uneven running gait?
For running I wear Hokas for their cushioning, but they are a bit too flexible in the toe box.
Thank you for your time, Dean

Thank you for your question Dean.
X1 Blades come
as singles. You only need one due to the fact that X1 Blades are
extremely thin. I have had only one serious marathon runner who said
that just having one threw off his timing - so he got another.

Stage 3 Turf Toe Using X1 Turf Toe Blade for D1 Soccer
X1 Blade Follow-Up Survey -
Dear Sean,
Thanks for your recent Order #3896 for 2 of my Blades. Did they meet
your expectations? Let me know.
Clyde
Hi Clyde,
Thanks for checking back.
Very impressed with the fit and finish of the product. Best feature is my son did not feel a difference in running gait with either running shoe or high-impact soccer version. He is back in training after 6 weeks in a boot following Stage 3 turf toe injury and preparing for college soccer season at Xxxx-U.
I feel good about sending him into battle with the proper equipment.

X1 Blade "Stopped My Turf Toe Pain Immediately -Thanks Joseph A."
Dear Joseph,
Thank you for your recent Order#3903 for one of my Blades. Did it meet
your expectations? Let me know.
Clyde
Clyde, I just returned from a week in Germany where I worked out every morning and walked several miles each day while sightseeing.....all pain free!!! Prior to getting the X1 Blade, my turf toe was bothering me literally day and night. The insert immediately stopped the pain and coupled with some toe strengthening exercises from my podiatrist almost have this thing licked. I will continue to wear the X1 in all shoes for the next 5 weeks as per your suggestion. Thanks for making a great product. Best regards, Joe Joseph A.
