X1 Blade Gives Immediate Relief to Runner

Subject: X1 Blade Question

X1 Blade Pro Model
Hi Clyde,
Been suffering through hallux limitus for about a year now and picked up an X1 Blade from you a few months ago.  I got the "runner" version which works great and provided immediately relief for runs up to about 15 miles, but I would start to feel joint pain on runs longer than that, so I found I also needed to cut out the great toe section of my shoe's insert to add to the depth of the depression for my big toe to make running pain free.  Thinking about ordering the "pro" version and was just wondering how much deeper the depression is on that vs. the runner version in hopes I wouldn't have to cut into my insert if I got that one.
Thanks in advance...
Jay

X1 Blades - Reverse Morton's Extension

The X1 Blade's  Reverse Morton’s Extension has been very successful in reducing the jamming effect produced by Functional Hallux Limitus. It also allows for a dramatic off-loading of the 1st ray.

Paul Pleased With X1 Blades

Original Message----- From: www.indianabrace.com Sent: Tuesday, July 16, 2013 11:19 AM To: pdxxxxxxx@earthlink.net Subject: X1 Blade Survey Dear Paul, Thank you for your recent Order#3923 for a pair of my Blades. Did they meet your expectations? Let me know. Clyde

Hello Clyde,

The X1 Blades seem to be working out quite well and I would have to say that I am overall very pleased. I particularly like the fact that they are so thin, which means they will accommodate any shoe, with any other existing insert over them.

Thanks for all of your help and expertise!

 Paul

Interesting Question from Hallux Rigidus Sufferer

Contact Name: aisha Phone: 217XXXXXXX Email Address: axxxxxxxxxh@hotmail.com Comments or Questions: Hello, I am somewhat confused by the hallux limitus/rigidus definitions (they seem to be used differently depending on if an ortho. surgeon or a DPM uses it). I have seen both and although I still have some ROM in my big toe(s), I also have arthritis and bone spurs on top of the big toe joints. 1.) Dr. told me to get a carbon sole. I delayed this because of my workouts (dance/fencing/weights, etc.) I am very ative, but now in pain, too. So I am unsure which one to order, and also, how to choose the size. I wear a 9/5-10 or 40, 41 in shoes, but my insoles measure between 10.25-10/50 inches. I have used numerous kinds of orthotics;the last one was a heavy duty full on orthotic w/Morton's extension-I wore it for 2 yrs. but it became too painful. I am buying a lot of shoes, looking for stiff soles, but my hope now is to find an insert that will remove having to live in huge clogs. I hope to call you tomorrow. Thank you! best, Aisha Lamb Sobh

I suggest due to the bone spur my X1 Blade with Reverse Morton's modification women's size 9. It should fit into any of your shoes and give you relief from your hallux limitus/rigidus during your workouts. If it dosen't send back for a full refund. Clyde

Trying to Avoid Great Toe Surgery - Australia

Contact Name: Meredith Cxxxxxx Phone: 02............ Email Address: m...........n5@hotmail.com Comments or Questions: Hi I am from Australia and am thinking about ordering your product for hallux limitus. I just want to check with you before ordering to make sure doing so would be worthwhile. I have been having considerable issues with my right toe for about a year now. I have been to a podiatrist who has made me orthotic inserts for my shoes but have had little benefit from them. I have been told the next step is surgery which I am understandably not keen on. I have also had considerable problems with plantar facitis in both feet since the toe pain started which I suspect is related to the toe problem because of subtle changes in my gait. I currently wear a womens US 10 b fitting in the BRooks Addiction 10 model running shoe. I don't run, these are just for daily wear, walking and to wear to the gym. This brooks shoe is the only shoe that appears to fit my skinny foot that provides the support I need. I was told to go for a shoe like this because I have a high arch and need a shoe to guard against pronation. I guess what I really want to know is how your orthotic would differ from my current one and whether you think ordering to try it is worthwhile. Thanks Meredith

Dear Meredith - I woud suggest you try my Reverse Morton's style. It should help relieve the hallux limitus pain and help you avoid having surgery for right now. Clyde
